Scott Ferguson is the Associate Professor of Film & Media Studies at the University of South Florida and editor for Journal Money on the Left. In this talk, Scott Ferguson introduces Democratic Public Finance (DPF), an emerging economic paradigm that re-frames money as an inexhaustible and contestable public institution. Conventional economic thought treats public finance as a zero-sum competition for limited funds in which government regularly accepts debilitating austerity in deference to private market actors.
